Embarking on an MBA degree is a decision that cannot be made lightly. Participation in the programme requires a considerable commitment in respect of time and effort. Students are advised to spend at least 20 hours per week attending class, doing personal studies or being involved in syndicate work in order to cope adequately with the workload. It is a challenge to time-manage one’s work, one’s studies and one’s personal life and to establish an acceptable balance. However, the rewards will be most worthwhile for those who are willing and able to make the commitment. Added to the personal satisfaction, there is also the professional gratification that comes from knowing that you are able to make a material and significant contribution to the success of the organisation or cause that you serve.
