Advanced business research

Even more exciting is that it will prepare you for the gathering and presentation of data in your final dissertation, which is key to your graduation, something I’m sure you all aspire to.

This module comes with the reputation of being tough, and it usually fills students with trepidation. But as you have been researching topics throughout your entire academic career, you have nothing to fear! Advanced business research is the way to go.

All the assignments you have submitted thus far have shown your ability to present information in response to questions that you were required to answer. The only difference with this module is the way in which you gather and present your data.

How will you achieve success with Business Research?

Identify a problem that you feel needs solving.
Set clear objectives that you wish to achieve.
Compile questions, aligned to your objectives, that when answered will give you the data needed to meet your objectives and thus solve your identified problem.
Explain and present the exact methods that you plan to employ in the process of gathering information.

Simply put:

What is your problem? and
How are you going to solve it?

The module also requires you to present a preliminary literature review, showing evidence that you do indeed have ‘a problem’. Delving into what other researchers have found around your topic is fascinating, and reading these credible sources will help and guide you on your research journey.
