Wits Business School announces new interim head
Wits Business School (WBS) has announced the appointment of Professor Logan Rangasamy as its interim Head and Director, effective 1 January 2026.
Professor Rangasamy has served as Academic Director of Wits Business School for the past five years, with oversight of the school’s academic project. He brings over three decades of professional experience in economic policy and related fields, having served as an Economic Advisor at the European Union and in senior roles at the South African Reserve Bank. He has also held research fellowships at the Universities of Cambridge and Nottingham, UNU-WIDER, and the Bank for International Settlements.
Professor Maurice Radebe, former Head of WBS, has moved into a directorship role within the faculty of Commerce, Law and Management at Wits University, while still serving WBS as an adjunct professor.
The role of Academic Director has been filled by Professor Jones Odei-Mensah, professor of Management, Finance and Economics and Discipline Lead (Management) at WBS.
WBS welcomes Professors Rangasamy’s and Odei-Mensah’s appointments and looks forward to the next phase of the school’s development under their leadership.
