GSB&L rated in the top 8 business schools in SA
UKZN’s Graduate School of Business and Leadership is among the Top 8 Business Schools in the country, according to the annual survey of the Accredited Business Schools in South Africa.
The School received the Professional Market Research (PMR) Award at a recent ceremony in Durban.
GSB&L lecturer, Mr Steven Msomi, who delivered a keynote address and a presentation covering the High Level Finance in KwaZulu-Natal at the event, said the achievement was a positive step towards the School becoming the premier School of African Business scholarship.
"For the School to be rated in the Top 8 Business Schools in SA, is really a good achievement when one looks at how competitive business schools have become over the last few years.
"We believe that the new Dean and Head, Professor Stephen Migiro is a suitable person to take the School to where it belongs. This is demonstrated by the number of changes he is in the process of implementing, together with his team," said Msomi.
Among other achievements the GSB&L has under its belt are the KZN Top Business Community and Social Services Award in 2010 and the KZN Top Brand in 2011.
The School offered a part-time and block-release MBA and a select array of customised business education programmes for the first time this year.
The School’s Dean and Head, Professor Stephen Migiro, said: "GSB&L is in the process of repositioning itself as one of the leaders in the provision of management and leadership education in South Africa and in the continent. The School will soon review and cross-pollinate its programme offerings in order to make them more relevant to the skill needs of the 21st century business managers and leaders."
The Graduate School of Business and Leadership is situated on the Westville Campus of the University of KwaZulu-Natal in a natural conservancy and enjoys a sweeping view of the Springfield Business Park and the Indian Ocean. The school’s facilities are modern and offer students some of the latest teaching technologies. Visit our
